From data overload to clear supplier performance:
Why Thanet Earth chose Kodiak Hub's SRM software

Customer Spotlight Q&A

Who are they?

If you buy tomatoes, cucumbers, or peppers in the UK, you’ve probably already bought from Thanet Earth. They run the country’s largest glasshouse complex in East Kent, where they produce the above crops and more. Their focus lies on year-round availability, tight quality control, sustainability, and short, reliable supply chains to Britain’s retailers.

We sat down with their procurement team for a quick Q&A about their SRM journey and what they like to achieve.

What made you prioritize SRM now?

"As we were heading into a new season, we were hyperaware that we were in need of increased visibility of our supply chain performance. Continued growth and complexity within the supply base has even further highlighted the need to employ tools and systems to help us ensure that we are managing our suppliers effectively and efficiently.

We were drowning in data, in all different formats, and this meant that we were struggling to effectively measure and manage our suppliers’ performance."

Which criteria mattered most when evaluating SRM platforms?

"New ways of capturing and managing compliance documentation, KPI measuring, centralisation of data and simplification of current processes were our key asks when looking for the correct SRM solution. Kodiak Hub covers all of these and much more, with features such as smart actions and automated task tracking, further increasing the efficiency and simplicity for the user."

Where did Kodiak Hub standout compared to other SRM platforms?

"Kodiak Hub was the only off-the-shelf solution that matched our requirements. All other solutions that we researched or engaged with would have required expensive bespoke design."

What advice would you give peers who are evaluating SRM platforms right now?

"Start by creating a plan on a page, helping you to define your key asks, and make sure that you stick to it"
